Editorial Policy
How our content is made
WNBA does not employ human writers or editors to produce player and team pages. Instead, content is generated by a data pipeline: statistics are fetched from ESPN’s public WNBA feeds (teams, rosters, scores, standings and season statistics), refreshed by a daily pipeline — not an official WNBA data source and not a live real-time feed outside the live-scores widget, validated, and used to fill deterministic templates — the same real numbers are always used to produce the same description, and nothing is invented or guessed when data is missing.
What "verified data only" means here
If a statistic, record, or fact isn't present in our underlying data, we don't generate placeholder or estimated content for it — the relevant page or section is left out entirely rather than filled with a guess. This applies across the whole site: bios, standings, records, and daily features alike.
No AI-written narrative
This site does not use generative AI to write open-ended articles, opinions, or predictions. Any auto-generated text (such as player bios or daily stat highlights) is produced from a fixed template populated with real, verified numbers — not from a language model composing free-form prose.
