Minnesota Lynx vs Golden State Valkyries

The Minnesota Lynx swept the Golden State Valkyries in two games to win their 2025 First Round playoff series 2-0. Minnesota opened the series with a commanding 101-72 victory on the road, establishing a 29-point margin of victory that showed the gap between the two sides in that first meeting. The Lynx then closed out the series on the road as well, edging the Valkyries in a much tighter contest, 75-74, a one-point result that stood in sharp contrast to the lopsided opener. Taken together, the two games showed Minnesota capable of winning both comfortably and by the narrowest of margins, sealing the sweep with the second straight road win. This result eliminated the Golden State Valkyries from the 2025 playoffs in the First Round, while the Lynx advanced by virtue of the 2-0 series sweep. As a First Round matchup, the series served as an elimination round within the broader 2025 playoff structure, with Minnesota taking the series in the minimum number of games required to close it out.
